Amy and I went to the State Fair for the first time this summer! (Paul took us.)
Some of these bugs are huge!
I thought this was a neat display - the length of the roots of common plants.
Pictures made with different seeds!
Fried Apple Pie with ice cream - so delicious!!
The rooster crowing competition!
We enjoyed the horse show, although we were puzzled as to how they picked the winner. It seemed the the horse that acted up the most usually won!
We got to hear the Willis Clan perform!!
It was fun to see the items entered at the fair. So much creativity!
A man and his old money collection. He had paper .50, .25, from one of the wars when they were conserving metal.
A man was giving a paper marbling demonstration which was really fun to watch!
He puts layers of drops of paint in a shallow pan of water.
Then he takes a board with many nails and runs them through the pan of water and paint. It makes a really neat pattern! Then he carefully lays a sheet of alum treated paper over the paint, and when he picks it up, all the paint transfers to the paper!!
Isn't it pretty?!
The 4H building was full of amazing creations!
Can you read what each shelf says?
It rained off and on throughout the day. I like the reflection of the trolley's lights on the road.
The 4H building.
Baby animals in the birth building. =)
The goat show. Amy really enjoyed this!
We didn't go on any rides but walked around and enjoyed the lights.
It was a long day but a fun one!
